Mark Smiley's Skin(ny) Happy Hole

Mark Smiley's Skin(ny) Happy Hole

$24.00

You are seeing this because you have expressed interest in testing out a new Bruce Wayne product. Access to the future...even without a Delorean DMC-12. This is the 8th iteration of my efforts to improve the connection of the skin tail to any ski or board. Say goodbye to, "hey man, your tail clip is off"

I will mail you:
-2 groovy hole inserts (made out of Nylon12 material on a SLS machine). The material is strong even in cold temps, but has its limits.
-2 dyneema elastic bungee cord. Normal cheap 3mm nylon bungee will work too, and it would be wise to have a hunk of extra in your pack.
-5 rivets
-2 carbon fiber tube sections for end caps (epoxy them on)

You will need to source:
-Slow cure 2-part epoxy. This locks in the part and locks out the water. I would NOT trust normal wood glue or typical gorilla glue.
- 7/16" (11mm) drill and drill press that can drill a 45° angle hole. I found that my goodwill drill press can make it happen with a block of wood under the ski to drill into. This angle is here for several important reasons. It's a pain to make a hole like this, compared to a 90° hole, but it's worth it.
- 3-4 clamps to hold the ski to the drill press and the drill press to the table.
-Vice press: this is the best way to set the rivets. Hitting them with a hammer damages the skins 4 out of 5 times. Don't ask how I know this. Just use a vice to squeeze the rivets.
-Junk ski to practice drilling the hole a few times. Seriously.

I'll send more instructions once you receive your parts.
